I am a Chinese American, self-taught multimedia artist based in San Francisco, California, raised across North Carolina and Colorado. I work directly with analog media and artisan craft, creating visual narratives and objects through hands-on processes.
My work is informed by close attention to materials, alongside time spent in nature, and my cultural identity. I value the small decisions made while working and the visible traces of labor that remain. I’m not interested in maintaining strict boundaries between art and craft, or usefulness and expression. I allow work to evolve through making, letting personal research, memory, and natural observation soften into something human and poetic. What matters most to me is that the work carries the presence of its making and feels lived with rather than merely looked at.
