I am a Chinese American, self-taught multimedia artist based in San Francisco, California, raised across North Carolina and Colorado. I work directly with analog media and artisan craft tradtions, creating visual narratives and objects through a hands-on processes. My work grows out of a background in scientific research and a curiousity about materials and the natural world, shaped by time outdoors and my culutural identiy.
I value the small decisions made while working and the visible traces of labor that remain. I’m not interested in maintaining strict boundaries between art and craft, or usefulness and expression. What matters most to me is that the work evolves through making, letting personal research, memory, and natural observation soften into something human and poetic.
